My Son's homework, any ideas?

Post by Clarry »

My son informed me this morning that his homework (to be in Wednesday) was to write about something the Victorians celebrated that we currently do not.

I came up with differences in the way we celebrate things and things we celebrate that the Victorians did not, such as Halloween but I just can't think of anything.

I hate primary school homework!

Any help with my 9year old's homework would be welcome.

In Victorian times Monday was a saints day and many people didn't work on a Monday, so i guess you could say that Mondays were celebrated.

Oh oh, what about Empire day? Something we wouldn't celebrate today, basically because there is no 'Empire'.

Hope that helps.

A font of knowledge!

I will put them all to him this afternoon and then (try) to get him to research them and write something up.

I don't remember having this much homework at 9

Thank you everyone!

I know my 6 year old had to do a historical piece about London major events, great fire of london etc. He found the great beer flood of 1814 very funny :giggle:
