About ten years old, 3"/80mm, black with silver slip, tapers to the outside. Anyone know?

Sorry I can't be more certain, but that looks to me like two mouldings (or one large black moulding and, as you say, a slip). I made up a similar large burgundy one with a gold slip like this just last week......

It's a one piece moulding, if I remember it was made of plastic, was regularly used for hotel jobs.... Don't think it's Mainline though....

Arqadia did the wooden version, it is all one frame and was available in black, white & cream.
Now discontinued though

Have a look at Arqadia 176 002 348 it looks like it. They also used to do a narrower version but have discontinued it.
I was looking for it myself yesterday and haven't found anything similar elsewhere.
