Shirt Framing
Hi All
I have been asked to do shirt framing but what's the best method to use? As I have never done one and I always get good advice on here and I heard I could just have it sandwiched against glass and backing board or I could box it out a little bit but I don't know how to start off really so any advice please
Adam

Re: Shirt Framing
Hi there,
I would not sandwich between glass myself. I would use a box frame and spacers to sit it away from glass. I tend to use foamcore cut to size inside the shirt to stretch to shape and then fix onto backboard using a tag gun. This means it is reversible and is very secure.
Cheers

Re: Shirt Framing
I am not anti ikea by the way, will happily cut a mount or piece of glass for an ikea fram, but i liked the way they had "smart ways to use their frames".

Re: Shirt Framing
Good luck,
It will probably take quite a while and a bit of cursing, but it does get easier the more you do. I remember my first one and although I was happy with the end result, I did think that if it always took that long, my hourly rate was very low!

Re: Shirt Framing
I thought people might want to see how it turned out and not too bad for a first attempt I guess!

Re: Shirt Framing
Sorry, apart from that, it looks good, and as it's your first one, you should be please with yourself, from what I can see in the photo, that type of shirt is not easy to do as there is not much give in the fabric, the customer could have ironed it first

Re: Shirt Framing
I think it looks pretty neat - I'd be more than happy with that result on my first attempt (hope my first shirt looks as good), looking forward to seeing your future work now

Re: Shirt Framing
Looks great to me. The stretchy rugby and football shirts are easier to get to sit right than the type you have done so impressive starting with a tough one first.
