Shrink Wrapping/bubble wrap sealing

Post by calvin the framer »

For anyone interested in a budget start to shrink wrapping or those that need to shrink wrap oval mounts a 'NEW TOY' is available from the states. I've just bought one, and its really good for the money. It's a CONSTANT HEAT ROLLER. Works sort of like the 'Magik Wand', but for a fraction of the price, just £129 plus the vodka n tonic. It can be got from Teneo UK the code is 'ME-802HW/AF'. The great thing is you just roll it around the shape, works with standard shrink wrap film, BUT I've found by turning the temp to max I can seal bubble wrap and heavy plastics as well.

Hi Calvin
Will this roller seal cellophane, I have acquired some large rolls, it would be nice to put prints and mounts in a nice sealed bag.

Thanks Keith

Hi,
I've been experimenting with cellophane myself. Playing with the heat control I managed to get a good seal. The phone number for Teneo is
01472 250 868 the model is ME-802HW/AF
It seems it will seal anything upto heavy plastic like damp proof membrane. Its one fault is NO heat indicator, so you need to experiment, and put your own marks on it, thats what I'm doing. But its about price and I don't do enough sealing to justify spending £400's or more. So, at £129 I don't mind playing about, and a bit of blue tack and the temperaure dial works wonders!!!!!!! I suppose you can't have all things dancing at the price. I have told the supplier of my concern about the temperature dial though. :Slap:

Hi Calvin

Thanks for the reply, I'm in the same position can't justify the machines for the amount of times I'll use it.
I think I'll go for it and give them a call.

Thanks Keith
