RAF medals board colour?

I have some medals for framing from a chap in the RAF. He didn't specify the colour of the board exactly but said 'RAF blue'. I'd like to use Arqadia Suedette board if possible The closest I can see to RAF blue would be French Blue. Is this about the right colour or is there a better alternative?

It's the closest in Arqadia's suedettes but you'd probably find closer if not exact in non-suedette. How come he didn't get to pick a colour himself, what if you go ahead with what you reckon's best and he hates it?

Arqadia's Silurian Blue is what we use for RAF stuff. Personally I would be very unhappy having medals done on Suedette. Just me though.

Why would you be unhappy to use sueddette for medals?

When we do medals it is normally our first choice - the deep colours and richness of the sueddette really make the medals look 'something else' try placing a medal on sueddette and then standard board... IMHO I think sueddette wins hands down! But that's my own opinion I guess, world would be a boring place if we were all the same!!

Back to original question, I've used it a couple of times for RAF medals and customers have loved it!!

I like suedette or some sort of fabric too - after all they're worn on fabric - a uniform.

I went for Arqadia's Silurian Blue in the end. Ill soon know if the customer likes it or not...

Not sure why I don't like suedette but then I have seen so many medals done this way that they just strike me as tacky. If a client wanted it then of course I would supply it, but it would not be my first choice to offer.
