Medal case
I have been asked to mount a friends medals in a case that he can hang on the wall and also can be opened to alow him to use the medals then replace them in the case on display. I think there is a post on here somewhere I am looking for a plan to make the said case if anyone can help.

Re: Medal case
Not the post, but maybe Bracken could contact Featurepiece to ask for help.

Re: Medal case
Making the case was straight forward - I just used Arqadia 258492348 (reasonably deep moulding) & their suedette crimson mountboard, foamcore with matching mountboard to line the inside and a neat little 'box' popped out at the end. The customer loves the case/box but still wants to use the little stud things for supporting his mounted medals though, still on the search for those. Rang Lion but that drew a blank. I did offer the alternatives I got from the forum but it was a 'no' from my guy.

Re: Medal case
Thank you all for help. Love the slip over frame got it in mind for another project. I was looking for something like a frame that has a hinged front like a book and can be opened to allow access to the medals. Think I saw a post on here some where but trawled through the posts and can't find it.
Re: Medal case
Make a simple frame out of 3/4" timber to form a box. Paint it - stain it or whatever. Cut two slots in one side to receive a couple of suitable hinges. Then you need only make a frame for the front with glass held in by strips of narrow quadrant. Fix hinges to this frame and use a magnetic catch on the other side.
Simples. (Fairly )
ps. You need to screw the whole issue to the wall with mirror plates. Cord/wire not really viable.
