I used Lions plate fixing holders and it worked very well

there is a range of plastic holders for all sorts of stuff and doesn't mark the piece either
Some people have reported that mighty mounts are affected by UV light - as in going yellow, 'crazing' (cracks), becoming very brittle and ultimately failing.

I'm with Roboframer on this one! The formed steel wire plate hangers, which include a hidden spring behind the plate are unlikely to ever fail, which is a good reason why so many framers favour their use for framing plates.

Mighty mounts are moulded plastic components and generally thermoplastic materials are used to produce most moulded plastic components. Thermoplastics are usually formulated to include plasticers to add some degree of flexibility and therefore reduce the risk of stress induced failures. Unfortunately, over time these plasticers can become depleted and the protection against stress induced failures is gone.

In cases like this, just the weight of the plate that is being supported, will result in a long term constant stress and it is difficult for a framer to know where to draw the line and say how much weight these fixings will still be able to safely support as the plastic material is affected by age.

Plastic supports like these should be used with discretion as they do have their limitations and your reputation as a framer could be affected, if a customers framed item ever suffers damage and your choice of support fixings might be considered as instrumental in the damage occurring.
