Jetmounter protection for inkjet canvas print?

Post by flypitcher »

Hi Folks,
I am thinking of buying a JM26.
Does it prevent cracking on the corners of an inkjet canvas print when stretching the canvas over the frame or is a hotpress a better way to go?

What film is the best to use to apply to the canvas?

thanks in advance

nooooo you cant laminate canvas with a cold laminate, it wont go into the texture

if you want a laminate you need to either have heated rollers or a hot vacuum press

Liquid lamentation is the norm for canvas, I doubt very much a jet mounter would work very well at all, unless the canvas was very smooth.
I have no experience with a hot press but as these suck out the air I am sure that would work better, but I would advise you look at Glamour II liquid lamentation.

you will see issue with a jetmounter on anything but glass paper

i heatseal canvases, much quicker than liquid stuff

although if i had space and cash would buy a dunk tank laminator

What's a dunk tank laminator? Would you mind providing a link to one so I can have a look please?. I'm not going to buy one but am interested in having a look.

I have just done a search in Google for 'dunk tank laminator' but can't see anything :(

Cheers!
