Happy New Year to all
Can anyone help with regard to framing a heavy needlepoint. It measures 940mm high x 480mm wide. There is zero material to wrap around and lace if that would work on such a heavy piece but I have my doubts on that. Client would like a mount and I would use a spacer to keep it away from the glass.

Re: Heavy needlepoint
If there is no material to wrap round, then sewing extensions on is probably the best way.
You'll need a sturdy board to lace it onto. Might even consider making a stretcher frame and lace it around that. A board dropped into the front and any wood that contacts the fabric isolated with aluminium tape. This will necessitate a deep rebate frame though, but you know it's not going to bow in the middle.
Rather than a mount and spacer, I would go for a flat liner with a bevel and drop a mount on top. Or just use the liner.
