Customers Sending Prints or Artwork To Be Framed

Post by JaneyT »

Does anyone get customer enquiries asking if they can send a piece of artwork/print/photograph/picture in the post/courier to be framed? If so, how do you suggest they send them to you?

Had one from Australia afore Christmas. :P

Paper-based items are best sent flat. Posting tubes are easier, but sometimes with valuable stuff rolling is a definite no-no. One thing I would say.... If you get a couriered item, check it meticulously as soon as poss. Note any creases or other defects and notify the sender straight away.

Items of value should be sent with insurance cover.

And beware things from abroad. Sometimes the customs unpack things and not too careful how they put them back.

Couriers wont insure 'Artwork' 'Picture Frames' 'Canvas Prints' etc.. basically anything thats deemed to be able to hang on the wall or display pictures etc.. they will accept them but on an uninsured basis so you could be on a hiding to nothing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong as I would LOVE to find a courier that will insure!!
