I wouldn't bait The Old Master (had to be very careful how I worded that - LOL)

Anyway, starch paste for me even if it's not as convenient - it's purer and stronger ... and cheaper.

Mary, I think you have a couple of alternatives to choose from, provided you can filter the sources out from the from the rest of the tomfoolery! One final point from me to bear in mind, Methyl Cellulose doesn't need cooking like wheat starch paste does. However, if you feel for any reason that you want to go that route, I have a microwave recipe that I've used in the past - send me a PM if you want details.
