I saw it at the Spring Fair this year and placed an order for one soon after - it arrives today. What particularly interested me is the clamping mechanism (very similar to the bigger machines) and to put that onto a machine with a similar foot print to my CS88 was one of the reasons for the purchase.

Noticed a brand new one for sale on eBay last night.

Indeed? I was thinking about upgrading too, I also have a CS88 but this looks like a nice improvement - very little detail available though it seems! :head:

I'd be interested in a few titbits etc :D

I agree that there is not as much information available for this new machine.

After a few teething problems the CS20 is doing everything I expected. The strength of the clamp when in position before top clamp is activated is really strong. It gives me plenty of time and space to make sure the join is lined up correctly before firing the wedge(s).

I would have been up and running a little quicker if the handbook was somewhat clearer; the description for the pre-clamping talks about moving "le lever" to position 1 with an accompanying photo but no labels to show position 1. When front clamps are positioned it then says move lever to position 2 with another unlabelled photo. Problem is photos are in wrong order causing much gnashing of teeth and lots of calls to Wessex. Thanks to a great effort by Garry at Wessex London we eventually worked out the issue.

In summary, I am very happy with it - now need to sell the CS88!

I don't think there's all that much information out there yet because it's so new, but I would point out that you can get even better deals on places like eBay. I've been keeping my eyes open and have seen a couple over the weekend, so you might want to try there if it's something that you definitely want to buy.

Did you by any chance have opportunity to compare this model with 299XL and what is the difference. Comparing specifications the both machines have more or less features:

Powerful Double Action Horizontal Clamp, Self adjusting fences, no need to adjust air pressure ...

Are they planing to replace 299XL with this model or I am missing something here? There is a big price difference between this two models and I don't understand where is the catch.

I think the key difference is that with the 199/299 the moulding is clamped and is static whilst the head moves whereas with the CS20 its the same as with all the cheap models the clamp is stationary and the frame moves which on larger frames can be a problem.
