I have always float mounted using the method from the lions site (hinging onto a drop-out around the edges)
so thought I would try the pass through method, but am unsure of amount of hinges and their positions, the artwork is a print about 65x55 cm on medium weight paper.
Is it a case of doing it like T-hinges but with 2 pass throughs at the top (one tight and one loose) with 2 at the bottom for support or should I be using more
Pass through hinges go at the top of a mounted sheet. Gravity takes care of the tension. I attach the hinge to the art first and let it dry. After the hinge can be pushed through a precut slot cut into the mount board. I let the mount board hang over the edge of the table and pull the hinge into position (square alignment for display). A bit of wheat paste is then applied to the hinge and pressed into position. A cross piece of hinge is applied and the mount board is moved over the table for proper support of the application of weights for drying.
