I use the BBC World Service. I have to focus on it and persuade my conscious brain that I really do want to listen for it to send me to sleep. It has the effect of blotting out other thoughts without being interesting enough to keep me awake.

I really miss Alistair Cook's Letter From America. I never managed to get through a complete one of those.

I did try music for a while but that was a disaster.
