i bought that grenade on ebay. the chap delivered it by throwing it through the door - he only lives up the road.
To make matters worse, i have my grenade on the breakfast table, number two son comes down all bleary eyed, looks at it, shrugs and doesn't bat an eyelid. Yup, thats Cornwall for you.

I'm getting good!

I've hit three 180's this week and I can hit the 25/bull pretty much whenever I want - you wouldn't want to play 'cricket' ** with me! My best going for the bull was 125! I've also hit a 141 out twice (treble 17, treble 18, double 18) but that was just going for that; not needing to 'get out' in a game.

But I'm inconsistent - sometimes I can be going for treble top and hit an 18, I think that it may be down to my throwing distance, a line on a deep pile carpet offcut, that 'walks'

I've trashed 3 sets of flights, 3 sets of stems and all my flight protectors, plus any darts that bounce out hit a concrete floor - OK, it's not as hard as tungsten, but still! So, when I get some new flights, protectors and stems, I'll also buy an oche (pron - 'ockee' - had to google the spellin') - that will also solve the problem of the walking carpet!

** 'Cricket'

2 players (could be teams)

One player 'bowls' - and throws for the bullseye and the 25.

One player 'bats' and has 5 lives.

The batter only counts scores above 60 (or an agreed score) - anything else is like when a batsman just blocks the ball but makes no runs.

If the bowler hits a bullseye, one of the batter's lives is crossed out, a 25 crosses out half a life. When all the lives are crossed out, the batter's score is recorded and batter and bowler swap.

This board, which is the same as the one you see on TV at Lakeside, the Winmau Blade III, was a Christmas pressie from Mrs R, but as a wind up, she first made me open another gizzit, a roll up magnetic dartboard.

Well that backfired! I love it - I get 6 darts to throw instead of 3 and they're bulletproof.

It lives on the fridge door.

So, your darts are as original as Triggers broom then?

No, more so - the barrels and pointy bits are pretty bulletproof!

This after a fun Google/Youtube trip looking for TIGGER'S broom - you got it right, it's just my eyesight.

Oh a wonderful thing is a Tigger, 'cause Tiggers are wonderful things ...... etc. Anyway, here's a link to the relevant 'Trigger' sketch - classic!

Welcome to TFF Penfold BTW :D

PS, today, after only managing to buy some pretty bog standard stems and flights in Worthing, I spent about ninety quid on-line, on an oche, about 30 stems, some of which are titanium, a shedload of flights from 'balloon' to standard to the slim ones which are no good for darts over 23 gms (mine are 22) and ten sets of flight protectors.

Plus some silicone 'O' rings that prevent the stem from unscrewing from the barrel all the time, which is quite annoying, and the thing is, a thousand cost £7:50 and I think they're gonna fit my compressor drain plug - what a bonus!

This is my fave darts website - but I got the oche for ten quid less on another that only sold boards, cabinets and oches!!
