Here's a misheard

'Harry Ramsden'

and a full misheard verse .....

We’re walking in the air
I’m sipping on an IRN-BRU
My chilly snowman mate said
that he would like some too
I tell him, get your own
He looks like he is going to cry
I tell him once again that the IRN-BRU is mine
Now I’m falling through the air
I wonder where I’m going to land
He nicked my IRN-BRU and let go of my hand.

Harry Ramsden?????

Christmas will never be the same again, John!

Prospero, I wish I'd never read that little bit of sacrilege: hope it doesn't stick in the memory banks. (More beer.... quick!!!!!!)

Those first 3 clips were crackers, Steve! As to the fourth, reckon Ormond would have the same opinion of them as he has of this thread!

You must be thinking of something different - I was thinking of George Harrison 'My Sweet Lord'

Madonna - same song has a line that sounds like 'young girls with eyes like potatoes'

I was just going to put that one up!

My fault - second comment referred to the Aled Jones remake! :)

Anyone got my connection yet?

Nope - but I reckon you and Prospero need to get yourselves on to 'Popmaster' - Ken Bruce show - BBC Radio 2.

Got it! All the songs have been covered by Lulu.

(worth a try)

Right cover artist. It's a really simple connection.

In the context of some of the answers you posted earlier, what is it about Lulu that makes it the right answer to 3.4?

Glad I managed to get you back a little bit.... :P

This lot a tad trickier. Or maybe not..... :?

P3:1] Casting just a glance, at my painted female friend.

p3:2] You don't believe in war, what's that gun you're totin'?

P3:3] A walk in the park can become a bad dream. People are staring and following me.

P3:4] There's a pretty little thing waiting for the King, down in the jungle room.

P3:5] ..Who called to say, "Come dance with me". And whispered vague obscenities.

P3:6] With a mouth full of memories and a lot of stickers on the windshield.

P3:7] There's a light in your eyes tells me somebody's in.

P3:8] Getcha getcha ya ya da da, getcha getcha ya ya here...

P3:9] I hid my yo-yo in the garden

P3:10] Nobody gonna steal my head now I'm on the road again

P3:11] Don't push your luck too far. Your wounds won't leave a scar.

P3:12] Cab man's furry glove sounds the horn.

P3:13] But my dreams they aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be.

P3.2] Eve of Destruction - Byrds
P3.3] Robert De Niro's Waiting - Bananarama
P3.4] Walking in Memphis (can't remember original artist, covered (badly) by Cher)
P3.5] At Seventeen - Janis Ian ('murmured' btw)
P3.8] Lady Marmalade - LaBelle
P3.12] The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis ('velvet glove')

Stuffed on the rest.

You still ain't got my Round 3 theme, not to mention some of the tracks.

While you're mulling over those, h-e-r-e's ................

Round 4 (and there's a simple theme to this lot, too!)

m4.1 - When I wake up in the morning light

m4.2 - I'm on the pavement, thinking 'bout the government

m4.3 - Acid, booze and ass, needles, guns and grass

m4.4 - I still find it so hard to say what I need to say

m4.5 - And by the way that you make a living you've got the boys all on the run

m4.6 - Letters I've written, never meaning to send

m4.7 - You heard me saying a prayer for someone I really could care for

m4.8 - Flick switch to 'off', close the vacuum

m4.9 - In the locust wind comes a rattle and hum

m4.10 - I turned then to my wife, and I threw up all over her

(Some very easy, some not so much. If you get 4.10, I'll be seriously impressed! You don't need 4.10 to get the theme.)
