Actually Áine, your area looks fairly similar to mine: This was taken a couple of years ago before we painted the house part yellow and the shop part blue.

Not exactly an uncommon sight - just could not believe how well this came out in such poor light with such a tiny camera.

I used to play on the cannons along the embankment when I was a kid! My first school was Tower Hill Infants! Ah, memories!!!

Still want to shake the hand of the guy that sold 'em London Bridge....

She knows her way round a camera! That leafy laneway is particularly charming!

I don't think so. It's probably a JCB. We live across the valley from there - our house is pretty much in the centre of the picture.

The panorama was stitched automatically by the camera software - it's a small Canon camera. Sometimes the results are better than others but at least it's easy.

Autostitch is easier and better than any other stitching software that I've seen and it's available from www.autostitch.net.
Just set the size% in the options, then browse to the images to open them and sit back and wait!
I did an extreme test once where I had two shots of a building in India, both at quite different zoom levels and Autostitch joined them perfectly! It had to stretch one side of one pic and shrink the joining side of the other.

Well there's one way that's it's not easier or better - it doesn't run on Macs. Seems to be Windows only.

This is taken with my Coolpix 3500 last year. Just zoomed maximum in iPhoto. No color-changes or so.

Took the afternoon off and went to Arundel - this pub is one of my favourite places




Due to the view from the tables outside - trouble is they've cut the huge reed beds right back so it's less photogenic now.



This is one January evening a few years ago from one of those tables - used to be my avatar and is my best selling photo. Still The 4.1 mp Nikon coolpix. I enhanced the colours and brightened it a bit though.

Love the castle/river view, I have seen a lot of great pics taken with "lower spec" cameras. They can perform brilliantly under the right conditions especially if the photographer has a good eye as well. Bet it looks good framed as well.
