Hi Tangent and welcome to the forum,

May I recommend that you consider buying this very good book on picture framing by Pete Bingham. I think that you should find it very helpful.

One of the best pieces of equipment we have purchased for our shop is our Excalibur 5000. Never looked back .

excalibur is a dream and saves on work top spaces. [glass 4x3 feet]. Great for same size multiples. Just set the 2 stops and cut all day

I do have a wall cutter, but I never use it. I've never got on with shuffling full sheets of glass behind the cutter track without chipping corners or worse.
I built a dedicated bench for cutting AR glass and now I cut all my glass there, suits me much better. It's a sloping top with a non-slip rubber surface and embedded measuring tapes vertical and horizontal. Beauty.

We call the 'got a bit of glass but need to flip the stop' a "Shamus" previously "Steve". Basically it's the name of the member of staff who works closest to the Fletcher! Haha

Pop in to your local glass merchant, and see their set-up, I've seen them with low benches, so you can lean across to cut the sheet, I remember when I went to Glass & Mirror in the early 90's to learn how to cut/handle glass, their cutting benches were covered with leather.
