My compressor tube developed two leaks, one the day after the other
I've tried wrapping a bandage round it, using framing tape, using electrical tape etc. but the air pressure is obviously too strong for my repairs. Anyone got any good ideas?

not safe messing with compressed air just go get new hose straight away


the pressure coming out of most of those compressor could shoot a projectile at you hard enough to kill you, not ever worth repairing hoses

I totally concur with previous post.
For some reasons far too many framers underestimate the potential dangers
of compressed air.
Please get new air tube (proper spec) -- correctly fitted.
It really isn't worth mucking about.

Could try stapling some rubber over the leaks

Either put the patch on the inside of the tube or change to suck.

You could always use an in line connector, not to expensive on fleabay

I was in a place today asking for a new hose, and they asked if I wanted it with fittings. I said I assume it comes with the end piece but apparently it is just the hose and the fittings are separate. Could I then just cut off the ends with the damage and fit new end pieces (there is still plenty of hose). If so what are the end pieces called and how are they fitted? All I can see on that internet auction site are fancy connectors etc.

If you've had two sections fail in quick succession, then if there is more in the same environment (chemical fumes or UV), then I'd think about replacing those, or if they were bought on the cheap.

There is a chap at lionpic's Birmingham office who helped us out with all the bits when we got our Bambi. What Bits you'll need will lend on how you are connecting what to what.

I'd make sure that you get way more jubilee clips than you ever think you will need - too many turns of the screw, and The thread will fail (as I discovered when I first mis- connected a section of hose from the regulator to a t-section, and got literally whipped on the shoulder by a piece of hose - shoulder was a wake up call, not far from eyes...) I've not found the little jubilee clips anywhere other than compressed air specialists (plumbers suppliers, motor factors, any merchants in our area).

I'm now trying to work out what kind of a suspended system I can run from the hi-glide system to go in the mounting room, so I can have air where I need it, and big lights in exactly the right place for detailed work. (kind of along the lines of the first video on this page http://www.megawood.com.au/tru-vue/opti ... rylic.html). Then I'll phone jack to work out what all the fittings I need are called...

Why not take the old hose into the place you were the other day and get them to supply you with the same set up, simple
You don't want to skimp where there are potential dangers of compressed air.

I took it all in with me, and the guy said do you want it with fittings or will you just use your own. I said I assumed it would come with the end pieces at least and he said that it was just the hose on its own.
