Please can someone give me another bit of advice, Customer today brought in 2 pictures in wanting them re-mounted and re-framed. Before he left the shop i asked was it ok to open them up in front of him. Upon doing so my suspiscions were correct the picture has been glued to the mount.
What is the best way if any of seperating the picture from the mount without any damage
By getting someone else to do it - a restorer or paper conservator.
(BTW - this is why I do not like the term 'conservation framing' Conservators are highly qualified people dealing in repair etc. We preserve things, well some of us do!!!)
