Hi Guys

Got someone who brought me in smallish (about 300x400) prestretched canvas and then choose a suitable moulding. Easy job methinks, however ..... my snag is that the painting sits virtually flush within the moulding rebate - no way to use offset clips etc. I was thinking of just cutting four triangles for each corner and securing the piece like that (if I've explained things correctly). Maybe there's a better way??? Open to offers

You can bend them to get just the right tension, so they work however much the hight difference between canvas and frame - up to a point.



Z-clips are neater it has to be said. But a lot of my customers like to switch/remove paintings for various reasons and spring clips make this a doddle. Also, I don't like the way you have to take a hammer to a canvas/frame to insert Z-clips. Don't like them stuck in my fingers either.

Hey! Hi, I've seen those actually and until you'd mentioned them I'd forgotten The guy needs it for tomorrow though, it's for some exhibition. I'll get some next order as I'm sure they'll be useful to have.

You could cut a backing board to make it all flush and then pin and tape that in as normal - also making it puncture and dust proof from the back.

I think that's the way I'm gonna do it y'know. Simple yet excellent idea

If you use springy clips it's easy to slip a backing board underneath.

I have not forgotten - Springy clips are on order
