Running Compressor off a generator?

Post by johnnymachin »

Hi all, does anyone know if it's possible (or wise) to run an air compressor off an electric generator?
I've got a Hydrovane HV02(single phase). I've been offered a great new workshop space but there is no power there.
Altogether I will need to power the compressor.a tab gun and a couple of strip lights.
Thanks for any advice.

There is no reason that you would not be able to run any single phase equipment from a generator although I would include voltage smoothing equipment and perhaps UPS as well

However, the biggest problem will come later in the year with heating and better lighting.

maybe ask the electric company to connect you up.
