Picture Framer looking for a job..

Post by elizabeth88 »

Hello, I was wondering if anybody could help me or know of any picture framers hiring a full time framer in the London area.. I currently work full time as a framer in the Midlands and have done so for about 18 months. I have been trained by a GCF qualified framer, but I am the sole manufacturer for the business so I've done a lot of different framing jobs which keeps me on my toes! I am a 23 year old female with an artistic background and degree, which helps when a creative eye is needed to guide customers into a decision!

I work with a Cassese guillotine and underpinner, I use a Keencut mount cutter and hand cut all glass due to limited workshop space.. I have framed: sports memorabilia, numerous gallery exhibitions, small and large 3d items, and stretched lots of canvases and cross stitches! I do all of the general jobs that framers do and I also have a really good relationship with my customers and artists who come back regularly which has contributed to increased sales within the last 12 months, so I am happy to work front of house also.

I am looking to move to London as I need to move and would prefer to work within a team as I currently work alone which isn't ideal during the long winters in my area!

Any advice or contacts would be brilliant and if you would like to get in contact please reply to this topic or send me a message.

Kind Regards :D

Hi Elizabeth, You are also experienced in handling top works of art (of course you are) so why not try for the art/technician fitter postion at this central London framer: http://jobs.theguardian.com/job/4689515 ... rce=TopJob

Best wishes & good luck to you.
