morso help

Hi all,

Im looking for a little help.

I recently bought a second hand morso (slightly upgraded from my older one) but although the springs etc are working great and cutting through the moulding with ease, the finish on the corners are slightly rugged.
On looking closer it seems to me that the tip of the blades aren't far enough up and missing the last half mm of the cut?
Does anyone know how to move the blades ever so slightly? I did have someone mention that you unscrew a couple screws underneath the machine but thats the last thing i want to do if its not right......im sure some of my fellow forum members will have had this issue and know what to do....and if it is to remove screws, they will tell me the exact ones :P

Hope someone out there can help me out.

Many Thanks,

Ian

Before you start twiddling about with adjustments make sure it's not the blades. Have you tried cutting with a fresh ground set? Some moulding does cut rough. Even with sharp blades.

From your photographs it would appear that the point of the blades is not passing between the fences which it should by about 1mm when the final cut is made (make sure it doesn't touch the fences though).

A nut under the front table holds a concentric bush in place. loosen this nut and using a spanner turn the bush until the knife blades just pass between the fences and all should be OK.

Graham

Thanks Graham,

I'll have a look and see if I can find this nut and bush :D

Prospero, Yes when I first got the morso I thought this might be the case so replaced the blades. It did help but only lasted a week or so....therefore must be a problem with the morso.

Thanks guys,
