I have read many helpful posts on this site over several years but this is my first question. Im sure you can help.
I have a gallery in Honiton and recently I have been asked to frame a lovely antique Honiton lace hanky. Its very fragile obviously. I frame a lot of embroideries but this is nothing like the same. Client wants the whole of the hanky visible on a plain background but HOW to fix it? Im guessing prospero or roboframer will know
Full support sewing here - it's already full of holes so no need to poke a needle through anything, just over strands. It'll be made from an 80 plus gauge cotton and you can use the exact same if you can find a good (ahem) needlecraft shop. Or just use standard sewing cotton, the more stitches the merrier.
Would be easier to sew on to fabric, which could be padded first and that could look great too but it's not that difficult, with a v sharp needle and either a rubber gripper or a thmble, to pierce mount board.
