John
The question is how do you get the link and then change it to this smiley :-)
Or just click this smiley :-)[/quote

you hit the little url button at the top of the box where you type, then enter the url and what you want it to be displayed as between the relevant brackets.

url=https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=66 ... =2&theater]:-)[/url

When you click "URL" above the reply box you get this

Paste the link you have cut or copied between the two sets of brackets and you get this yourlink wotyouhavecopied then add what you want like "click here" or whatever and then add and you get this yourlink wotyouhavecopiedclick here

all that will appear in your post is "click here"

Almost right Roboframer.

Say you have a URL such as http://theframersforum.com

And you want to tell folks that this is a friendly place.

The way I do it is to join the two together on one line, URL first:-
http://theframersforum.comThis is a friendly place

Then highlight the line and click the URL button which will give you this:-
http://theframersforum.comThis is a friendly place

Now just replace the first closing ] with an = and insert the ] immediately before the text, like this:-
This is a friendly place
(The equal sign is vital, as is the positioning of the first closing square bracket)

And Bob should be your uncle!
I hope that I haven't made the whole thing look more complicated than it really is.

Oh yeah, forgot the = bit - actually I just type it all out and don't use the url box at all. Like I said earlier the sequence is visible in the quote anyway.

First bracket would be a square one>>>(url=https://www.facebook.%20com/photo.php?v=669175323106162&set=vb.129181127093002&type=2&%20%20theater]:-)

I'd hoped for a yellow smiley to click on but as what's posted is underlined it didn't happen.

Edit (i.e. too late to edit) my post above with the red bits was a total load of carp really. Weird, something I do on auto-pilot - but trying to describe it I go to pieces!

There ya go. A clickable Keith. :D

It's all to do with tags. The / in the tag terminates the sequence. For instance, to display the code I used code /code tags.

You forgot to move the first closing square bracket, Keith.

It should be immediately after the URL and before the text

You got it Keith :D

Nice motors! When I have enough money to do so I will definitely attend an auction like that one!
Not sure I'm going to make it by giving driving lessons though.

Just had a very amusing thought! Imagine the looks on the examiners faces if I presented a pupil for test in one of those cars

Getting back to topic though, that range of mouldings is phenomenal ! ! !
