Churchgate Gallery- Spring Exhibition 2014

Please come and join us for a drink and meet the artist's on Sunday 13th April 2014 2.00pm - 6.00pm

Jacqueline Leighton Boyce:
Jacqueline has a BA (Hons) Degree in Ceramic Design from Central St Martins . Her current work is inspired by the flora and fauna of Exmoor and its landscape. Jacqueline’s hand built and beautifully decorated ceramics display a simple and sometimes romantic narrative.

Neville Cox:
Neville likes to paint the Devon and Somerset countryside using a variety of media, including pastel and acrylic but mainly oils. He is attracted by contrasts in light, colour and texture as the seasons change. Neville likes to sketch and paint outside and most of his work consists of finished pochade paintings and studio work based on 'plein air' sketches

Caroline McMillan Davey:
Caroline's principle aim is to portray the light, colour and atmosphere of the landscape with an honest and spontaneous approach, resulting in striking and vibrant images

David Hunt:
David lives in Staffordshire but regularly visits the South West. He uses oils and pastels to create bold and rich in colour, landscapes of Exmoor and North Devon. David has won several prestigious awards including The Pastel Society's Tom Rice Award

Peggy Lock:
Peggy studied fine art and printed textiles at college. As a student she won a prestigious award sponsored by the then Cotton Board. Her design was printed by David Whitehead and was featured in House and Garden. The predominant theme of Peggy’s silkscreen’s is blue and white china and Staffordshire pottery.

Louise Waugh:
Louise is a internationally exhibited painter and printmaker. .Her work and palette have a fresh and invigorating feel. Louise has been selected to hang at the RA summer show for the last 5 years; she has also been selected by the Royal West of England Academy.

Peggy Lock's work has a contemporary quality and a strong sense of decorative design. Many of her images are based on direct observation of both the natural world and man-made objects. Lino is the main medium and prints are limited editions.

Neville Cox is strongly influenced by the countryside of West Somerset where he lives. Constantly experimenting, an innate understanding of light and colour informs his work, he applies paint in a free and bold manner.
