Other things I do outside framing.

Surely we all make lots of different things outside framing. Would like to see what others have done, other creative interests in their spare time. Have posted three images to get the ball rolling.

not a bad effort Geoff, I think you may find this inspirational, first crafted by the legendary professor Farnsworth, I present the finglongerer.

They look great. Do you sell them or do you make them purely for personal enjoyment?

Finglongerer...I Like it.

Obviously a lot of skill involved from it's conception to actual design. Pretty costly perhaps running into what 25p. Although you dont' say, I assume it's usable for all finger types and different nationalities too. Must be really useful for those that find it embarrassing when pointing only to have a form of a stump to indicate and perhaps confusing to some. Wonder if there's a fingshorterer for those less well endowed in the finger dept or is that being silly

Kwik picture framing. Thanks for your comment and yes, these are some of many other things that I like to play around with from time to time. The shield I will keep for myself. Most of the other artefacts I make have been sold, though I keep moulds of many things I have done so I often reproduce many from time to time. I make quite few pieces of furniture for people too. Anyway... what about yourself, do you create other things outside your framing profession?

Yes indeed Geoff, there are many many applications of the finglongerer, it fits all fingers whether stumps or full legnth (super glue needed on stumps less than 2 cm), did I mention it's extendible!
I find it very useful when attached to the middle finger of my right hand, it provides a kind of silent shout, similar to caps lock on in a forum, this is especially useful whilst driving.

In all seriousness, the bits you have posted are very nice, I would like to see more.

I just design websites

I like the combination of creating actual objects (frames) and virtual objects (websites)

A quick update on the use of a finglongerer whilst driving, I also used it extensively today to get the waiters attention whilst at our favourite restaurant, it worked an absolute treat!

I can draw

Well, I think I can, I've yet to complete a drawing alone - I have two more workshops with my fabulous tutor and then it's up to me. I think I have to be in the right environment and am struggling to create it at home.

Thank you! IFGL....Not everyones cup of tea I know, The design gilded on each facet came from an old Victorian tile I have, just modified it to fit the inset panels around the table. All of it is made in poplar timber with aspects requiring gilding being gessoed. The finish is left bright, the black I used is water based eggshell which was sprayed thinly over a dark brown base coat and sanded lightly a after each coat..
