Actually it's a pretty cool nightmare, a Freddy Krueger signed photo.
It's having a off white (Hayseed) mount and I suggested splashing it with blood, fake of course.
I am either going to find a blood splash on't tinterweb, there is also a blood splash photoshop brush and print and bond to the mount board or flick paint at it.
any opinions on which paint would make a nice blood splat, I wouldn't mind if it has chunks
Why not drop in on your local family butcher and ask if they have an armful going spare? Although real dried blood doesn't look very convincing...
You could try getting some red paint and mixing in a bit of black. Blood is quite dark, although it depends if its veinal or arterial. Arterial blood has a more orangey look. A small wound in an artery will produce a high pressure spray, almost a mist which you could replicate with a squirty bottle. Bigger wounds give out bigger splashes which you could do by loading a big brush and flinging it. Acrylic is the stuff to use. It's quite thick to start with but you can thin it to the right consistency.
it would be very easy to print it on, but paint will give a more textured realistic look, just gotta experiment.
somehow I think this maybe one of those jobs I end up making no direct profit on,although I will enjoy it very much, I will use as a advert.

Any particular acrylic paint you can recommend?
Any decent brand will do. There are cheapo brands that are OK but can be soluble when dry. Not that it would be a huge problem. If you put it on thick and it touches the glass, you may get weird spotty effects.
Red Oxide is a good bloody colour. Dab of black if you want to darken it.
How about dribbling a bit on the frame so it looks like it has leaked out?
