The framer's Compendium

Recently, a few members of the forum have been beavering away in the background, collaborating on resurrecting the old Knowledgebase. I have to say that is looking great already thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team.
At present we are concentrating on the layout and structure, and anyone who can help with the technical/organisational side of things would be more than welcome to join us.
Similar concept to Wikipedia, it and has been set up in such a way that, while it can be viewed by the wider public, only forum members will be able to edit and make contributions. By pooling our collective knowledge we have the potential to create a really worthwhile online reference document for beginners and experts alike that will grow and evolve with time.
We would love to hear other views and suggestions for this project. One pressing need is suggestions on what it should be called. ‘Knowledgebase’ has been abandoned, and our present working title is ‘The Framing Oracle’.
Other suggestions have been: -
- The
Framing
Infobase
The
Essential
Framer
Framing
Primer
The
Framing
Guru
The
Art Of
Framing
The
Informed
Framer
Framing
Heck
Ideas anyone?

but i do like The Framing Oracle & Framing Heck.
i think this wiki is a fantastic idea and i'm unsure why it hasn't been done before!

I prefer The Framing Oracle. def: A person or thing giving wise guidance.
Suitably apt.
A brilliant idea John and I will echo. I have no idea why this has not been thought/made before. Or has it and it fell into disrepute or lack of use.
However, I applaud you and your team, it will take quite a few weeks/months of dedicated work to get it up and running but we do have over 400 members worldwide to help out in your quest.
Well done.

If one were googling for such a resource, what would one type into the search box? Whatever it is, that should be the title.

Perhaps you're on to something here, 'The Naked Framer' it is then.

If there were 100 choices, 'oracle' would be 100 for me!
"Keep It Simple Stupid" is the key. Steve is 'spit' on, it needs to be easily 'Googleable'!

if you have a good set of Meta keywords on your page you don't really need a very easily searchable name.
but having something catchy and easy to remember is probably for the best.

Framers Oracle for me. Could end up being one of the best places on the internet for framers - after the forum of course.

Mark,
Oh yeah, it's just typical of you guys up there in the mother country, liking a word like 'oracle'. It just sounds so 'upper class' - all I've got to say about 'oracle' is - Rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb!
Whatever it is called, it will be a great resource for framers, new and old!

Oh Ormand
No wonder you are confused!!!! You are thinking about one of those round boat type things. That you paddle across the water, pack it on your shoulder and go shopping for your rhubard before the treck home.

Pfffffftttt!!! What sort of a dill would invent a round boat?......they wouldn't know if they were coming or going or just rotating on the spot! Probably had way too much lunatic soup if the truth be known!
