A customer brought in a frame this morning to have the broken glass replaced. It was a very narrow aluminium clad obeche moulding and the back had been fitted with much too long narrow crown staples. This resulted in a nice collection of double dents all round the frame.

The framer obviously thought it was alright, as he even put his label on the back. The customer wondered what the dents were, but paid him without even mentioning them. Seems like ignorance is bliss!

Hehe. I have seen frames of this ilk for sale in shops with the protective plastic still on. Someone bought one in one day for reframing as it looked very tatty with all the marks the plastic had accumulated. I stripped of the plastic before her very eyes to reveal the pristine ally beneath. It looked like new. In fact better than new. Didn't get to reframe it after all but it was worth it to see the look on the customers face.
