That's the title of a course that an artist/customer we have known for years teaches - she's shown us her students' 'befores' - stuff that looks like Beavis & Butthead - here are the afters (My camera made the close up a bit skew-whiff - but you can see the detail.

WOW! Thats a long way from Beavis.

Did she say how long she was teaching this student before this was started?
She would have to be a miracle worker to get my drawings to look anything like Beavis.

My 3 year old daughter is starting to compete with me for the crayons atm.

I'll ask when it's collected but it's only a couple of mornings a week.

If anyone wants to learn the basics of drawing, I can recommend "Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain" by Betty Edwards.

Collected.

The customer had done a year's course and this one did have previous experience, but I've seen as good, at least to my eye, from complete beginners.

One of my part time (more ad-lib) framers, who is a fantastic artist in her own right - and a dentist - NOT working here for the money, has attended some of these classes to learn the technique.

Chrissy (the ad-lib framer) is married to a GP who is also an authority on fly fishing. She illustrated his last book, forwarded by Prince Charles!

Just wish I could afford to make her give up her £180 per hour day job!(OK, she doesn't own the practice so a chunk of that will go as rent for her room and equipment - so let's say £100 per hour maybe!)

Football shirts? Big deal - she stitches peoples' gums!
