I own and run a photolab - up till now we have only supplied most of our prints unmounted. Thats changing. Our 26" cold laminator has been joined by a 44" cold laminator (Hot Press) and we are about to install a 30"x40" Pneumatic hot press - which can be run at 90C to laminate our canvas prints and at 200C to do dye sublimation prints onto metal etc. Theres a 24" Epson with sublimation inks joining too - our existing collection of photographic C-type and HP z3200 printers....

We buy in ready made frame rims from a local company - but looking to produce box frames which have a front mounted print on a dibond/fomex panel - so far can only find moulding for these from Lion in both 38mm and 50mm deep. No joy at Wessex. Any suggestions where else I can try?

Also to join these - as they are quite deep, I saw Lion had a german made mitre system with bow tie shaped plastic to hold them together - anyone any experience of this (Hoffman) or is an underpinned the best for these types of frame?

We use the hoffman system for some of our frames and also those that we post. It is a very good system as long as you choose the right materials to use it with. With the keys working out at 6pence per corner, it is considerably more expensive than underpinner wedges. It is a godsend on hard wood, useless on mdf and polymer, but excellent if you want to send a broken down frame through the post.
