Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the forum, especially everyone who take the time to reply to questions and queries who's advice has really helped me in my first year of having a framing business. Hope you all have a lovely festive period and get a little break from framing.

Sheffield is a good central location to meet up and share some chips! Although I have a feeling many of you will be held by customs and ultimately refused entry into gods own Yorkshire, not mentioning any names here except maybe James, that is obvious though a Mancunian living in London!

Merry Christmas guys! A lot of Christmas framing orders at my end were later than usual coming in, so I've been working like crazy! I've still got a lot that were not promised for Christmas, but the orders were accepted on the basis that I would do my best, so I'll be busy up to the start of the new year.
I've also got a not bad order book for January, with hopefully more to come, plus a couple of restoration jobs as well. I was thinking that January would be a quiet time for business, but the last two weeks have changed all that!
I've pretty much outgrown my premises during the last 6 months and need to do something about this. At the same time, 2017 is the year that I turn 65 and get my state pension. As a result, I don't want to look for new premises at my age, so instead I will be down sizing and staying put.
So next year, I won't be accepting certain types of work (eg, no more football shirts, etc) and I'm down sizing my current moulding stock. A lot of my surplus mouldings will just be scrapped. I won't get anything for them, but it's a quick solution to my current lack of space.
I also plan to finish revamping my shop and after that there will be something like about 20 unwanted half sheets of slat wall which will, either be free to a good home, or just scraped. I let everybody know when I'm ready to get rid of the slat wall panels.
