Stretched Canvas

Post by Twin Peaks »

Can I just say that being relatively new to framing, I find this forum so good for finding out answers. Anyway to my question-
Could members advise on ways to attach a frame to a stretched canvas painting?

Hi TP!

Check for answer to your query in this recent thread.

As I mentioned in the above thread, I find canvas offsets from Lion are great for the job. :)

Thanks Moglet for that. What do you or anyone else for that matter think about Z clips?

I've not used z-clips, but I think there were some recent posts about them. Suggest a forum search! :)

I use z-clips but generally only as a direct replacement for old, tired ones. Much prefer the offset clips from here which when used with felt pads between the clip and the back of the frame are sturdier and less invasive of the artwork.

Z-clips are fine up to a point. Pesonally I don't like to taking a hammer to someones paniting. They can be a pain to hammer in and next to impossble in a hard wood frame. They also are very nasty if left in a frame when the canvas has been taken out. :x
