Hey guys!

I am around shopping for a pneumatic stapler for canvas stretching work ONLY, it will be on a thick 19mil 450gsm canvas so i hope that any pneumatic stapler drives the staple right thro it without further "nailing" it haha, i came across a brand called Surebound that is a fraction of the price of other brands like Senco, Makita, Dewalt, etc..

Here is the link - https://www.amazon.com/Surebonder-9600B ... B000EOJPC6

Has any of you guys have any experience with this brand?
I found some videos on Youtube and it does seem to perform as well as the other brands that are multiple times costier, also their reviews on Amazon for example are great, what do you guys think of it?

Thanks!

It's in dollars so what about the cost of carriage, duty and the vodka and tonic VAT?

The price point on US Amazon site always looks good, but will the finished price be after all of the above?

There is a air pinner made by Hitachi that looks really good at $89, but even with a shipper that gives me a US address to ship to, I am nervous to see what the end cost will be. Here is the model I would like - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitachi-NP35A- ... B003SHDM84

Yeah thats true, but according to amazon the price of this one would be:
"$29.99 + $36.82 Shipping & Import Fees Deposit to Portugal"

Not that big of a deal when the big brands are well over $100 for aparently the same specs, will continue to research tho.

I would have thought that sourcing within the EU would be possible and would avoid the horrendous import duties and freight that US supply will attract. My wife inadvertently bought some electric toothbrush heads from Amazon shipped from US and when they arrived at the local parcelforce depot we dad a note asking for duty etc, it amounted to 3 times what was paid to buy them.
An alternative would be an electric stapler, I sometimes use one I bought from Aldi or Lidl a couple of years ago for under £30 and it does the job adequately.
If you want to get away from cables and airlines altogether Lion are offering this cordless stapler. https://lionpic.us1.list-manage.com/tra ... 0c8d59bb67 or look for 9848 on the Lion website.

Unfortunally pneumatic is a must, dont want to worry about staples not going all the way thro the material even if its rare ocasions (i will be having a compressor in the shop for the spray painter as it is), as far as shopping within EU its always best, but we get a pretty beaten up price on almost everything, on machines such as table saws and miter saws it goes for 2-3x the price of the US, altho they are different 110v and 220v versions, still doesnt justify, but on those cases we have dont have a choice, buying a 110v to use a step down to convert 220v down to it is just too risky.

On the pneumatic staple side this one seems to be the best, even paying all those duties, the next runner up would be a Dewalt which goes for about 100e within EU.

That seems a good deal, but are they stainless steel staples?
The best deal i got for those were around 2.5c a staple (euro) for 3000 or 5000 packages, your deal is about half that price.

The best place to find stainless steel staples is at a marine supply shop.

I've checked a couple locally, they are actually even more expensive than buying from Amazon and ship it (at big quantities), both stainless steel and marine grade.
