Hi

Need a deep tray frame in black - preferably open grain - rebate needs to be 52mm minimum.

Thanks!

Good luck with your search, recently tried to find one without any success, Lion have introduced a new BLOC range which is 48 mm rebate.

Or fabricate the moulding you want using a moulding and a flat spacer. Looking at my paper Rose & Hollis catalogue, the distance from the outer edge to the inside of the rebate for A104 measures 52mm from the paper catalogue. Turned on it's side with a flat specer added into the rebate, this may be a workable solution to your requirements.

Don't forget to ask Rose & Hollis to check this dimension before just going ahead and placing an order. Hopefully, problem solved!

I would add that I have had bad experiences with larger obeche tray moulding where I have encountered, poor quality wood in the wrong place, while trying to produce larger tray frames and as a result have spent far too much of wastage which is only fit for the dumpster. As a result, I hardly ever use tray frame mouldings, but make them up using my normal stock mouldings and spacers.

It often gives me the option not to use obeche, if I don't wish to!

You could use D & J Simons http://www.djsimons.co.uk/index.php?rou ... bec%2F0105
it's 61mm deep, cut and join upside down, pop a bit of 3mm MDF in the bottom , then paint black, job done :ninja:

We use this a lot, (customer picked up 16 yesterday) we make them regular for the same customer, he pops in his own plywood backing , we just cut and join upside down, then use a brad nailer to cross nail through the sides at the top to make a nice strong joint, fill and sand, nice earner :cash: :cash:
