Embossed logo.

Hi all, bit of a curve ball.
I’ve seen mounts with the artists logo embossed into it via a press. I’ve just messaged a company that makes these presses but say theirs won’t emboss mounts as they are too thick.
Has anyone done this for a customer? Done it themselves or know of a company that can supply these presses? Its for my own mounts and artwork
Thanks
Dave.

Any machinest's "arbor press" will have enough force to emboss paper or mat board.
The question is in obtaining a die in the image of the artists logo and what it will cost to make that die.

Thanks Jerome. Just had a look, arbor presses are reasonably priced and the company that I enquired at makes the dies, it was just a case that their presses didn’t exert enough force to imprint the mount board. I guess if I can’t find a hand press, that’s a Plan B.
Many thanks.
Dave.

Arbor presses are hand operated.

why not send the (press) company a sample of mount , then get them to have a go at embossing it

Thanks Steve, good idea. I thought I could get a die that they sell for wax seals which is made from brass, remove it, solder it onto the end of a brass bar then just give it a tap with a hammer to emboss it but the text is engraved into it as opposed to raised up from the face so I don't think it would work as well.
I’ll see if they would consider a test run on a piece of Mount board. They have a “Notary” hand press for up to 250gsm which might be enough to emboss although that is obviously nowhere near mount board thickness
