Ive looked at the programme again just to get the facts

Channel 4 Tuesday 24th Steph's Packed Lunch
The bit you need is from 42 minutes to 44 minutes

And the demonstrator - Anna Soubry - is showing how to hang a picture, using the ring pull off a drinks can :head:
Guess what? >>>>> it breaks :Slap:
UNBELIVEABLE

At one time the programme attracted 200,000 viewers
Needs one enterprising member on here to contact Channel 4 and offer to come on the show and demonstrate how to hang a picture

Whose volunteering ?

I would guess that after the fiasco with the broken ring pull being used as a hanger, that they probably will be glad to foget the whole subject. Who ever thought up the idea of using a ring pull the hang a picture on? The mind boggles! Since when was a ring pull designed, or specified to take the weight of the picture? Even if it had not broken it would probably gradualy sagged with the weight until the picture fell off.

Obviously Channel 4 can't afford to buy a real hanger. Whatever next! Unbelievably unprofessional!

Mark,

You are so right-Unbelievably unprofessional! thinking a ring pull can be used to hang a picture

Sadly many viewers might think all you need is a ring pull !

Framers need to be much more pro active, dont let this pass - lets all write to Steph at Channel 4

Suggest that showing such ridiculous advice is dangerous.
What happens when it falls - glass breaks , and someone get cut.

Offer to do a slot showing the best ways to hang a picture.

At least while we are observing the shut down, there provided us with something to be amused about. Personally I'm not really much bothered about them suggesting a silly ideas, if they want to demonstate their incompetance to the rest of the coutry, why should I mind.

I was not going to mention this, by if the glass in the picture gets brocken maybe some of us might be glad of a little extra bussiness in these times when our incomes are likely to be challenged. Some off us are managing quite well, but I'm guessing that there maybe some who are feeling the pinch a bit, so who knows, this may be a blessing in disguise for some.
