Hi, wonder if any one can help.

I have a clkent who wants a 110 x 85cm canvas stretched over 38mm deep bars to be framed in an oak (or oak effect) tray frame.

I've looked through Lion, Centrado and Larson Juhl offerings but can't find any Oak tray frames.

Anybody know where I might find one please?

You can make a tray frame from two flat mouldings joined together to make a tray frame and It is not that hard to do! There is no specific way in which you will need to do this, in fact methods are likely to vary depending upon how individual framers like to do this. So there is not necessarily any right, or wrong way to do this.

Naturally you will watching your costs, so you may consider making the back of the tray using a cheaper moulding which is not Oak. This other moulding can still be stained to look like Oak, or even be painted, being at the back of the frame, it won't be all the easiy to see. I have not bought tray frame mouldings for ages, but instead frabricate my own from two flat mouldings from stock. It's quite a lot easier than it sounds!
