Hello from Yorkshire

Hi, many years ago I did framing and I have decided to re-visit it. I have premises and have picked up all the equipment I need, the basics are the same but the styles have definitely moved on, there are some very inspirational frames on this forum.
I would like to ask about recommended suppliers if that's allowed?
Opening next Wednesday!
Thanks Nick

Hi Nick, and welcome to the forum.

There are plenty of suppliers to choose from, all with mind boggling ranges of products.

My advice would be to choose one main supplier, so that you have a sporting chance of not paying delivery fees by having big enough orders. It is all too easy to get carried away when you see something good from another supplier to add it into your samples, and end up having to place small orders and lose your profit on delivery charges. As your business gets more established, you can expand.

My choice is Centrado because they can deliver glass as well as all the other bits. (Wessex offer a similar service). I also use Rose & Hollis for unfinished, and Lion for hardware.

Other massive change in the business is AR glass - can't remember the last time I used normal float glass!

HI Nick,
As Gesso and Bolle says, loads to choose from.
My choices are:
Wessex van delivery for glass, mountboards, backing boards and the odd fillet.
Lions for everyday mouldings and all my sundries.
Larson Juhl for upmarket mouldings.
Rose and Hollis for most of my barewoods.
Preservation Equipment for specialist archival tapes, EVA etc
Best of luck for Wednesday!
Justin
