Chevron display

Hello all

Happily, I'm moving to bigger premises. At the moment my chevrons are just on cheap display boards, using the velcro they come with, but I'm wondering if there is a better way.

Show me your chevron displays! Anyone not using velcro?
How can I make it look smart on a budget?

Thanks
Megan

Just velcro on the back of the samples onto a wall board.
Does the job.

Hi Megan,

This is not necessarily cheaper, but before I needed to move premises, I bought some of those long slotted metal strips and springy snap in hooks from Lion, which I think makes it easier to always have my sample cherons hanging perfectly in line. It does mean that you need to screw some little hanging brackets onto the reverse of your sample chevrons, at least this way when you replace the chevrons on your display, everything hangs neatly and spaced apart exactly how it was before.

We have the self adhesive fabric on MDF panels and then Velcro on the back of our chevron samples. The only difference is our metal frame samples that are on the special strips from Nielsen. We’ve added examples of glass and small framed items in among the chevrons on some of the walls.

Hopefully some other forum members will share their photos as well.

When I moved my shop (1994) I had a moment of clarity. Why have huge (and expensive) fabric covered boards?
I got some velcro sticky tape 25mm wide and stuck it to strips of 25x6mm Obeche PSE. (R&H). the strips are then
screwed to the wall. A few staples in the tape stops it coming off. Not only is this quick and flexible but all
the chevs hang neatly in line.

We use velcro strips attached to our counters, very simple.

I'm intrigued to see what others are doing, I'll also be looking at improving our display when time allows (ha).

EDIT** If anyone know how to turn them around it would maybe make more sense :)

I have birch ply walls, so did the same as Prospero. Cost effective and simple to do. I recommend stapling the velcro on the back of the chevrons too.

I went to a local carpet shop and bargained for some cheap carpet tiles (and I mean very cheap!) Have glued them to the walls and velcroed the chevrons to them. Works fine for me.

What Miss Eclipse said! We're designers, think outside the box.

I got a sheet of self adhesive white board magnetic thingy and a few rolls of self adhesive magnetic tape 15mm wide which allows me to stick them. I did use the felt stuck to plywood but didn't like the result as the velcro seemed to come apart after a while. I think I will go with the metal strips in the future

Thanks all.

I like prospero's idea best I think, thanks! This seems cheapest and easiest to replace when needed. Do you have a pic?

Keep other pics coming too; I love seeing other people's shops and how diverse and creative everyone is! :o
