What's the difference (if any) between an Ademco and Keencut hot press.

Superficially they look very similar but did one company take over the product from the other?

Ademco is a company long defunct. Never heard of Keencut machines.

The most common ones nowadays are Drytac ones. I had an Ademco one but replaced it with a Drytac.
In comparison they are much more substantial than the old Ademco ones.

Do you have any pictures of the machines you are talking about?

The first machines I sold (in the photo trade) were all Ademco machines - back in the early eighties. Ademco sold - hardbed presses / softbed presses / hydraulic presses / vacuum presses - not to mention a whole host of laminators too...

I'm pretty certain Keencut did dip their toes in the water for a short time - as Keencut Bonding - but never actually manufactured their own machines. They may have re-badged machines form A&P Tools or Kennett Engineering.

I've got an old hard bed Keencut Bonding machine but there is an Ademco machine for sale nearby that looks very similar, so from your comments I would guess that it is even older than my machine and that maybe Keencut Bonding rebranded an Ademco one anyway.
