Filling of Corner Join

I'm after a bit of advice please. I have a moulding (which has been a bit of a mare)... one corner a tiny bit open and which I would like to fill. I would say there are three colours - antique and 'ordinary' gold and a sort of dark grey gold. (It's one of Larson Juhls' fancy frames). I am trying to avoid buying three pots of of Amaco nail hole filler. I was thinking. Could I mix in with CJ White corner paste a little gold /antique gold etc etc.

Would appreciate your thoughts please.

It's best not to agonise too much about getting the exact shade. I've sometimes done the job by rubbing the corner
with a mucky finger.

If you have gaps big enough to need finish-matching then turn you efforts to your cutting/joining equipment setup.

Have a look at "Rub 'n Buff" small tubes of wax. They come in all shades and will cover the filler easily. It goes a long way!

many thanks for replies. I ordered some Rub and Buff yesterday so all good to go. The frame in question really was a difficult one to work with... I think I need to stick with simpler designs from now on!

I was recommended Polyfilla Fine Surface "extra fine filler" for any gaps. Easy to use and clean-up and it'll take any colour/finish on top after. It sounds like a moulding suited to a Hoffmann join. If you're buying chop from LJ already, maybe try their routing service for the tricky ones like that.
