Ceramic Tiles

Post by BookFrames »

Hi all,

Customer has just brought in some ceramic tiles for framing.

First frame to have a set of four tiles in a row, these tiles are 90mm x 90mm and she would like them framed without glass, to go in a bathroom. I was thinking , paint a piece of hardboard or MDF in a suitable background colour and attach them to this.
Does this sound Ok or is there a better way to do this? How should I attach them to the board? there is a piece of MDF on the back of each tile.

Second frame is a single tile 200mm x 200mm, glass is Ok for this so I was thinking: attach to mountboard back( How?) with spacer in front and then mountboard with 60mm border--essentially a shallow box frame. does this make any sense.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
