Although Cassese cartridge wedges are no longer available since the Cassese closure. UK Framing Supplies has an ongoing supply of refillable cartridges and compatible wedges plus spare parts. We also have ongoing replacement stock of hammers and distribution blocks, the most commonly required replacement parts.

Hello UK Framing Supplies.

I have been using the CS1 Cart Underpinner for 5 years now and it is a great machine once you get to know it. I still have a small supply of Cassese cartridges and have been refilling these as much as possible. I heard a report that the refillable metal chutes are not particularly reliable and that some machines have been damaged as a consequence of using them? I’m now at the stage of considering a)retiring or b)buying a new underpinner but I don’t think I would consider this machine now.

Thank you for your comments. There are probably a few different versions of the metal cartridges on the UK market. We have been supplying refillable metal cartridges since the closure of Cassese and have received very positive feedback. Refilling plastic Cassese cartridges can work perfectly well, although many framers find the metal chutes more practical as there is the risk of plastic cartridges jamming in the machine if they are used until empty before reloading.

Bit of an aside, but have just bought a box of 10mm Universal replacements from you for my Euro and the wedges are working perfectly, to my mind better than the Universals.
