I have had a recent run of large canvases purchased from abroad, sent in a tube. They look like they haven't ever been on stretcher bars and the canvas is wavy, some have thick 3D ish paint. Stretching doesn't seem possible due to paint thickness, is it just me?
If not, how do you tackle?

Glue them down with PVA glue

If they are oil paints then a little heat can soften them for stretching, even if they are another paint medium some heat can still help. If you have a small fan heater then try to hang the canvases in front, you don't want them to be hot, just warm.
