More fun with the spindle moulder.

This was for a dealer who had this little oil painting on an oak panel and he wanted to have the edges showing so as not to look too boxed in,

What I did was attach four small foam-board tiles to the back and floated it on to some black mount board.
Thanks to Justintime who supplied the pre-cooked wheat starch paste and the boards.
Remarkably easy to use that pre-cooked starch - just add cold water and it's ready. Justintime is our West Wales main dealer.

The frame was made from tulip wood with facing slats of fruitwood.
These were shaped, stained and then polished so as to resemble ebony wood.

That's a beauty!
Just to clarify, I accidentally bought a 1.5kg tub, which my wife is finding plenty of uses for in her artwork, but still looks like it would last me a few framing lifetimes! I'd prefer not to get into the habit of posting little baggies of white powder around the country, but if anyone local would like to try some then get in touch.

We feel your pain Justin - we did the same thing and have been handing tubs of powder to students for ages!! The pre-cooked stuff is fantastic.

As for the frame - that is a thing of beauty Vintage

Thank you for all the likes.
Always a lovely feeling.
It was fun to do and now he wants some more.

I hope I havn't drawn too much attention to your stash of wheat-starch, Justin.
Bro only wants to fix up his local users.
