OK: A challenge for a Sunday. Not really a framing subject but I am hoping someone can come up with a few suggestions.
A local youth club http://www.wtypc.org have about 100+ A4 encapsulated photos that they wish to display at their AGM. They have previouly been displayed using 3' x 2' velcro covered panels but over the years these have deteriorated/got damaged so they are back to square one.
The club ( a charity) do not have the money to spend out on nylon loop material as the photos are displayed only once or twice a year but are an important part of the club's history.
Each photo has the velcro dots on the back but I have not been able to find an alternative to nylon loop that will hold them. I have tried various carpets but these has not been very succesful and they would rather not use a tape to hold them onto the wall as this damages the face of the picture. Magic Tape from Lion which would be and ideal easily removable tape will not adhere to the painted brick walls as the photos are encapsulated in a heavy duty finish.
I estimate the the total area needed to display the pictures is around 100 sq. ft so the method of display need to be economical and can be of either wall hanging or free standing panels, colour is of no importance
So any suggestions as to rescue the club' display and suggest how to manage a neat temporary display of the pictures would be welcome as my ideas have all but been exhausted.

Re: Displaying encapsulated photos
The subject heading should of course read 'Displaying encapuslated photos' but I can't locate the edit button.TTC wrote:OK: A challenge for a Sunday. Not really a framing subject but I am hoping someone can come up with a few suggestions.

Re: Displating encapsulated photos
A tad confusing as to what you want to mount the pictures to...
Board with velcro loop, you only need a small piece of loop on the board to pick up on the hook pads on the picture. No need to cover the whole board. Fix loop with staple if necessary. Display boards can be covered with cheap fabric or painted.
Wall mounted, assuming you can attach fasteners to the wall. Create an effect similar to the display seen in estate agents window. Laminated pic will be quite sturdy so punch holes in the top and bottom corners. Fix screws/nails to wall, create closed loops of string about 100mm long, thread through top holes and onto wall fixings. Cut 200mm (or less) string lengths, thread through bottom picture holes and top of next picture underneath. Repeat for each vertical column. Hide knots behind picture.
Cheap punch available from screwfix/craft shop so overall outlay will be very small. If extra strength is needed, cut thin strips of moulding spacer to the width of the picture. Fix picture to strips from behind using drawing pins. Drill holes in wooden strips and hang as before.
After the display lift off picture column from the top and fold to create a stack. Store flat and they will be ready for the next time.
