Hi all,

I had the cable snap on my CS88 the other day and am at a loss as to how to fit the new one.

Unfortunately the cable snapped outside of the red protective box and I couldn't see the setup around the pulley.

Rather un-helpfully too, there's no mention of how to replace a cable in the manual, or in the docs I downloaded off Cassesse's website.

Thanks for any help you can give me, if anyone knows how to go about replacing it and the route the cable should take round the pulley etc,etc.

I last changed one about 10 years ago. I think you remove the red box - 2 allen bolts from memory. You can then see the routing for the cable around a couple of pulleys and onto the pedal with a locating slot for the lug.

It's a fairly simple job and shouldn't take too long. Photograph the existing route for the cable in case you forget when putting the new one in!

Thanks for that avantime, I couldn't see the arrangement of the pulleys as it had all fallen through - however, on closer viewing of Cassese's website I found an exploded view of the CS88 so have simply replicated that - job done..!
